The London facility is conveniently located just off the Hamilton Rd. and Veteran’s Memorial Parkway. We are looking for a full-time Warehouse employee for our afternoon shift. Experience in the food sector will be a definite asset. Shift flexibility is a key requirement and expectation for this role. Adjusting schedules and start times on short notice is required for all shift coverage.
Position Summary:
·         Staging /set up of packaging materials in respective packaging departments
·         Picking and storing of raw materials
·         Receiving of raw materials
·         Locating products in the warehouse; use of forklift required
·         Order selection and loading of trailers
·         Housekeeping of the receiving and shipping areas
·         Inventory cycle counts
  •   Shifts will be 8 hours per day 5 days per week

We currently have an opening for a Shift Operations Manager (SOM) to oversee the day to day operation of the Production Facility, in line with the corporate mission, vision and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities and Contributions:

- Oversee the general running of the manufacturing facility which includes all activities on shift; production, warehouse, maintenance, and set up.
- Facilitate and assist in planning production activities, ensuring coordination and planning is aligned across various support departments.
- Coordinate the activities of all team leaders within these departments and liaise with any other manager on issues that directly affect the running of the facility.
- Monitor results and facilitate timely, effective responses based on a 'Fix it once' approach.
- Ensure the effective communication of accurate and timely results to the executive management team.
- Act as the key "change agent" within the production team.

- Provide support to all team leaders for general troubleshooting/problem solving/conflict resolution.

- Performance management of all production staff, up to and including their performance reviews.

- Set objectives and goals for various teams where applicable.

- Lead process and product improvement and new product development initiatives.

We require a seasoned Maintenance Supervisor with a minimum of five years supervisory experience that has consistently enhanced efficiency, lowered costs and maximized asset utilization. Ideally, you will hold certificates as a millwright, in electrical training and / or refrigeration.  

This position requires a self-motivated maintenance professional who can set a good example for all, as well as possess a superior work ethic. Food manufacturing / frozen bakery experience is an asset.

Key Technical Responsibilities are:  

  • Organize and manage the key maintenance department activities across all shifts
  • Co-ordinate with all staff to identify appropriate job assignments are issued ensuring we always maintain a high GMP standard and ensure production readiness on all assets at all times
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of Boiler and Refrigeration Systems within the facility
  • Maintain proper certification for self and all technicians as appropriate to meet all legal requirements
  • Provide feed-back and support to department staff
  • Monitor results and facilitate timely and effective response
  • Regularly review and revise plans for PM activity, department scheduling and training
  • Revise plans through the year as appropriate
  • Continually strive to improve processes to eliminate waste
  • Align self and maintenance staff, to the department mission, operations team, and product strategies
